We will chant the Mul Mantra for 2 1/2 hours. The Mul Mantra is for new beginnings. The Mul Mantra was first spoken by Guru Nanak and it is the very beginning of the sacred writings of the Sikhs, the Siri Guru Granth Sahib. The Mul Mantra is also the opening lines of Japji, the song of Nanak, the Song of the Soul.

Yogi Bhajan explained that the entire Siri Guru Granth Sahib, all 1740 pages, is an explanation of the Mul Mantra. The Mul Mantra is a ninety ‘pad’, a ninety ‘note’ mantra. This a powerful and profound practice that requires your steadiness and commitment to participate.

We will start promptly at 4:00 pm and you will be asked to cover your head; please use any natural fabric- cotton/silk. Preferably white.

 Chanting meditation effects:

3 minutes

of meditation affect the electromagnetic field, the circulation and stability of the blood.

7 minutes:

Brain patterns begin to shift and the magnetic field surrounding the body increases in strength.

11 minutes

of meditation begins to change the nerves and the glandular system.

22 minutes

the 3 minds (Negative, Positive and Neutral) balance and begin to work together. The subconscious mind begins to clear.

31 minutes

of meditation allow the glands, breath, and concentration to affect all the cells and rhythms of the body. Endocrine secretions are completely balanced as is the ethereal energy of the chakras (junction points of body and spirit).

62 minutes

changes the gray matter in the brain. Stimulates the frontal lobe of the brain; also the pituitary and pineal glands. You work through the physical body, the emotions and mental states and are then in communication with aspects of the Divine within yourself. The subconscious "shadow mind" and the outer projections are integrated.

2 1/2 hours

changes the psyche in its co-relation with the surrounding magnetic field so that the subconscious mind is held firmly in the new pattern by the surrounding universal mind. You totally remake your psyche. These changes persist throughout the day and are reflected by positive changes in your mood and behavior.

Chanting  for :

40 days

It takes 40 days to change a habit

90 days

It takes 90 days to confirm the habit

120 days

The new habit is who you are

1,000 days

You have mastered the new habit

Yogi Bhajan taught about a unique class of languages he called phonetic languages where the sounds of the syllables impart the meaning by the way they resonate with the archetypal human psyche. He mentioned Gurmukhi, Sanskrit and French as three such languages. In the 16th century, the second Sikh guru, Guru Angad created the Gurmukhi alphabet to phonetically represent many/any languages.
