"You take your first breath when you are born, and you breathe the last when you leave the body. If that is not a clue of the importance of the breath,
what else it can be."

In this workshop we will learn about praana and how it manifests in our bodies and minds, as well as practice deeply healing breathing techniques.

We'll incorporate in this course all the basic elements of Kundalini Yoga, a kriya (set of exercises) mantra meditation combined with a certain pattern of breathing as well laughing and dancing.

Your breathing is linked to your emotions; when one changes the other does so, whether you are aware of it or not. If you breathe improperly your emotions get trapped inside your energy field. When you breathe properly and fully these emotions and feelings are released, resulting in a feeling of bliss.

Let's talk about praana. In the east it is known as "the breath within the breath." The breath of life.
Prana contains the life force which is transferred to you when you breathe. It is far beyond a simple combination of oxygen, nitrogen and other chemicals. Prana can heal you. Conscious breathing exercises brings you into a centered state of relaxation.

Pranayama (yogic breathing or breath control) is a foundation of Kundalini Yoga practice. When we bring the proper attention to cultivating prana (life energy) with pranayama techniques, we can experience physical healing, mental clarity and spiritual transcendence.

"My introduction to Kundalini Yoga by Akalsukh has been a wonderful addition to my spiritual journey. My connection with Spirit has increased, I've demonstrated an increase in abundance and peace and I have learned not to steer the river, just enjoy the journey. Thank you Akalsukh for sharing your deep devotion with us." Lisa C.- NJ

Things to think...

"Prana is the most powerful and most creative thing God ever created, because out of praana came life."

Who breathes in you? The Atma (the soul). Breath is by the soul. The moment the soul leaves the body, you shall not breathe."

"So the existence is not yours. Actually this is the existence of the soul."

"The soul vibrates. The soul breathes. The praana comes as long as the soul is there."
"All the knowledge you need comes through the breath of life."

Guru Nanak said:"When you are short of wisdom, breathe."

"You start conscious breathing and you have all the answers. You breathe consciously: you inhale consciously, you exhale consciously, and you'll get all the answers. So long as you are unconsciously breathing, you are unconsciously living...."

"Akalsukh's Kundalini Workshop focusing on prosperity and manifestation was extremely rejuvenating and uplifting. I left with a feeling of gratitude for the abundance I already have and a renewed perspective on the opportunities that are always available if we are open and in awareness.
I love Kundalini yoga because it connects you to your soul and then gives you the tools to take that energy off the mat and into the"real world." -Heidi, Verona NJ

 Depth of Breath

"Why are you given two lungs if you are not to do pranayam? The lungs are the biggest organ in the body because God knows that without the development of pranayam which brings total purity of the blood and total oxygenation of the brain, you can't meditate."

"The lungs' capacity (of a person) can be as little as 300cc's. Normally it should be 500cc's or 700cc. It can go up to 1110 to 11600 to 1800cc's."

"Whenever your breath become shallow, you are irritated, irritable. When your breath is shallow, you are shallow. When your breath is deep, you are deep. Your power of depression and expression is based on your breathing rate. If you breathe shallowly, you will be depressed. If you breathe deeply, you will be very expressive."

"You need 21% oxygen in your blood. Your average is between 11 and 15%. None of you breathe deeply. What on this earth can you have when you can't breathe deeply enough to achieve 21% oxygen in the blood? You must breathe from the navel, not just the diaphragm. You need oxygenated blood. The rest of the body can tolerate an oxygen level of between 11 to 17%, but the brain needs between 18 to 21% oxygen."

"When the breath is shallow, all problems come in. All this caffeine, nicotine, all these drugs are the problem of the shallow breath. All those who crave sugar and sweets, who have what is called a ‘sweet tooth' are shallow breathers. Deep breathers won't have it."

Read what students have to say about it:

"The meditations and the Kundalini Yoga are wonderful. No matter how I am feeling I always feel better after meeting with the group. I am so grateful that I found Kundalini Yoga; it is transforming my life. Akalsukh is a gentle, kind teacher and is patient with all levels of ability."
-Linda Zeidler, RN

Thank you, Akalsukh, for the gift of your teaching. Thank you for teaching me to believe in myself, my gifts, and for challenging me every day to step out of my fears and limitations and walk towards truth, clarity and love. I am blessed to have found such a beautiful teacher in my life, and it is my sincere hope that your service of teaching may reach many more fortunate students, like myself.

"This was my husband's and my first experience with Kundalini Yoga and we are looking forward to our next. Not knowing what to expect, we jumped right in making no judgments, making no comparisons and deleting our need to understand. We were present and soaked up the total integrated experience."
